The GCISD Board of Trustees heard an update on activities related to the 2005 Bond Program during the regular meeting on August 25, 2008. The following update was presented:

• On Bid Package 5, work is complete at the Professional Development and Education Center (former CES and both high schools, and all facilities were ready for students to arrive for the first day of school. Contractors will continue working through punch list items.
  
  
• On Bid Package 6, renovations to Cannon, Dove, Grapevine and Heritage elementary schools, Grapevine Middle School and the Swim Center are complete. However, the new floor coverings in the corridors at Grapevine Elementary had imperfections and will be replaced this school year (during a student holiday yet to be determined). All facilities were ready for students to arrive for the first day of school. Contractors will continue working through punch list items.
  
  
• On Bid Package 7, planning continues for the six-classroom addition to Cannon Elementary and renovations to the Transportation Services, Facility Services and Tax Office facilities. The Board previously approved Competitive Sealed Proposal as the construction delivery method for this package. Proposals will be opened beginning September 4, 2008, and a recommendation for a general contractor will be presented to the Board on September 22, 2008. Construction is scheduled to begin October 1, 2008, with substantial completion expected July 15, 2009.

An update on activities related to the 2005 Bond Program was presented during the GCISD Board of Trustees meeting on July 21, 2008. Progress reported included:

• On Bid Package 5, work is nearly complete at the Professional Development and Education Center (former CES). The Bridges and Vista alternative education programs as well as the Nutrition Services, Special Services and Staff Development departments are scheduled to begin moving into their office spaces on July 25. Phase II of renovations is underway at Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine high schools. At CHHS, painting and floor covering installations in the classrooms on the second and third floors are complete, ceramic tile installation throughout the building is nearly complete, and painting continues in the athletic areas. At GHS, renovations in the 700 hallway are complete and furniture is being re-installed. Carpet installation is in progress in the main corridors, new ceilings and floor coverings are being installed in the band hall, millwork continues in classrooms and the main office, and installation of new doors and hardware continues. Interior painting is in progress throughout the building while exterior painting is nearly complete. Renovations at both high schools are scheduled to be complete by early August.

• On Bid Package 6, renovations to Cannon, Dove, Grapevine and Heritage elementary schools, and Grapevine Middle School, is in progress. Work includes removal and replacement of carpet/floor coverings, wall coverings, roofing, HVAC equipment and electrical systems. At the Swim Center, installation of HVAC equipment is complete and new pool filters are operational. New lighting for the pool area is being installed, interior painting is in progress and roofing is near completion.

Installation of ceiling tiles, carpet and other floor coverings is progressing and interior painting continues throughout the building. The cafeteria floor is being repaired in preparation for tile installation, and existing millwork is being removed for new cabinet installation. Phase II of construction at Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine high schools has begun. At CHHS, carpet, vinyl wall covering and acoustical ceilings are being removed; removal and replacement of roofing is progressing and HVAC installation has begun. At GHS, carpet is being removed; existing millwork is being removed and replaced; and exterior painting is progressing.

• On Bid Package 6, renovations to Cannon, Dove, Grapevine and Heritage elementary schools, and Grapevine Middle School, began June 11. Work includes removal and replacement of carpet/floor coverings, wall coverings, roofing, HVAC equipment and electrical systems. Interior and exterior painting is progressing. At the Swim Center, installation continues on ceramic tile in the restroom and locker room areas, HVAC equipment and a fire sprinkler system in the pool area. Interior painting and re-roofing also is progressing.

• On Bid Package 5, renovations and additions to Bransford, O.C. Taylor and Glenhope elementary schools were completed during summer 2007. Phase II of construction at Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine high schools will begin in summer 2008, with the majority of work consisting of new carpet, ceramic wall tile and painting. Work is progressing at the Professional Development and Education Center (former CES). The exterior walkway canopy is complete and work is near completion on interior HVAC systems, roofing and sheet metal installation, and electrical systems. Interior painting continues throughout the building and the new parking lot is in progress. New carpet is scheduled to be delivered in early June and installation will begin immediately.

• On Bid Package 6, renovations and additions to Cannon, Dove, Grapevine and Heritage elementary schools, and Grapevine Middle, will begin June 11. Completion is scheduled for the first week of August 2008.

During the April 28 regular Board of Trustees meeting, an update was provided on current activities related to the 2005 Bond Program:

• On Bid Package 5, ceilings are being installed and carpet installation has begun in the Bridges area at the Professional Development and Education Center (former CES). Interior painting continues throughout the building and installation of HVAC grilles and lighting fixtures is ongoing. Progress is being made on the parking lot excavation and grading.

• On Bid Package 6, construction work on projects in this package is set to begin in June and to be completed before school begins in August.

An update was provided on activities related to the 2005 Bond Program. A video in the ongoing student bond video series was shown highlighting summer construction work at both high school campuses.

All projects that were scheduled to be open for the first day of school were complete by the time students arrived. Exterior site work such as landscaping and irrigation continues on several facilities.

  • At the new CES, interior work is complete and final details are being completed. Furniture is being moved into classrooms. Landscape installation begins this week, as site grading and irrigation is already in progress. GCISD has completed its work on Pleasant Run Road and the City of Colleyville is working on its portion of the road. At CMS, interior finishing work continues while exterior masonry continues on the gym extension. The gym floor is being installed. Progress continues on the new w eight room and fine arts wing. Both CES and CMS are scheduled to be complete in August.
    
• Bid Package-4:  (SLES & HMS)
  
  • The addition at HMS is nearing completion, interior finishing work is in progress in the renovated areas, flooring is being installed in the science addition and exterior site grading continues. At SLES, interior work is complete and furniture is being installed. Exterior site work and landscaping is in progress.
    
• Bid Package-5:  (BES, PDEC, GHES, OCTES, CHHS, & GHS)
  
  • Interior work continues in the corridors and classrooms at OC Taylor. Kitchen renovation is on-going and all new equipment is on site. At BES, interior work is near completion and furniture is being installed. Re-roofing continues and is scheduled to be complete this week. At GHES, exterior site work and cleanup continues. At CHHS, furniture is being installed in the classrooms and the floor slab has been poured for the choir room addition. The gym floor at GHS is in the finishing process, ceramic tile is being installed in the kitchen and interior finishing work continues throughout. Exterior masonry work continues at the loading dock and new cooler/freezer location, site paving is ongoing and roofing work continues. Renovations on the PDEC are scheduled to begin in September.

  • At the new CES, exterior site work is in progress and roofing is 95 percent complete. Interior work including painting, tile installation, plumbing and electrical continues. Drainage work at Pleasant Run Road is near completion and road work will follow as weather permits. At CMS, millwork is being installed and exterior wall work continues on the Brown Gym. HVAC and electrical work is underway and walls are being prepped for painting.

  • The addition at HMS is scheduled to be complete during the fall semester. New ceilings are being installed in the addition and ductwork and electrical overhead is being finalized. Science casework is in place and final hook-ups are being performed. At SLES, new wall finishes are being completed, new ductwork is being installed and HVAC/electrical work is ongoing. Exterior painting is underway.

  • The final topographic survey for the baseball field at CHHS has been completed and is being reviewed by the civil engineer. üThe baseball field at CHHS has been over seeded now.

    • Brick veneer has been delivered and is being constructed now.

    • Tree protection is in-place.
    • New parking lot is laid out and forming work progressing through the next two weeks.
  • M/P Stadium Field house

    • Exterior masonry is now complete at Library addition.
    • Windows are being installed this week.

An update was provided on activities related to the 2005 Bond Program. during the Board of Trustees regular monthly meeting in November. The following items were discussed:

• Bid Package 1: Football fields are complete. The infield of the CHHS baseball field has been re-graded and new sod is being installed.
• On Bid Package 2, roofing is near completion and all interior partitions are in place for the BCES classroom and cafeteria additions. At TES, exterior masonry work and interior walls are complete, and the Enrichment Center renovation is expected to be mostly complete by the first week of December. Work is scheduled to begin at CTMS and Mustang-Panther Stadium in December 2006.
• On Bid Package 3, structural steel is being installed at the new Colleyville Elementary campus as is HVAC, electrical and plumbing. At CMS, masonry walls are complete at the dressing rooms and concession area of the new gym. Work continues on structural steel and roofing.
• On Bid Package 4, all foundation piers are in place at both HMS and SLES, and under-floor plumbing is being installed. The first foundation pour for the HMS addition is set for this week.
• Projects in Bid Package 5 (BES, existing CES, GHES, OCT and GHS) are currently in the construction documents phase. The tentative bid period for these projects is January/February 2007.

An update was provided on activities related to the 2005 Bond Program.

• On Bid Package 2, the CHHS parking lot is completed and in use, and work is set to begin this week on the marquee retaining wall. At BCES, exterior walls of the new cafeteria and classroom additions are in place and interior partitions are being constructed. Work continues on plumbing and HVAC ducts. At TES, steel framing and interior partitions are in place for the library addition and sheetrock installation begins this week. Work continues on HVAC and electrical systems. Work is scheduled to begin at CTMS in December and at Mustang-Panther Stadium in spring 2007.
  
• On Bid Package 3, all first-floor foundation slabs are complete for the new Colleyville Elementary campus and steel framing is underway for the administration and kindergarten areas of the building. Exterior masonry work is set to begin within the next two weeks. Fire lanes, road and parking lots are 90 percent complete. At CMS, the foundation slab for the new gymnasium is complete and masonry walls are being constructed. The existing tennis courts have been removed and the area is being prepared for installation of the new courts, which are scheduled to be complete by the end of November.
  
• On Bid Package 4, under-floor plumbing and storm drain lines are installed at SLES and area is being prepared at HMS to pour the slab for the additions.
  
• Projects in Bid Package 5 (BES, existing CES, GHES, OCT and GHS) are currently in the construction documents phase. The tentative bid period for these projects is January/February 2007.
